Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about charging infrastructure for electric campers.

Can I charge my E-Camper at any charging station?

Yes, you can charge your e-camper at any public charging station. Many European countries already have a good charging infrastructure, but you should still prepare for the journey and check beforehand where you can find charging stations. In some countries or regions, the charging infrastructure is not yet very well developed, which is why you should also adapt your route to the available charging points.

What types of charging stations are there?

A distinction is made between two types of charging stations. DC (Direct Current) means direct current and AC (Alternating Current) means alternating current. DC points are also called fast charging stations and AC points are called normal charging stations.

AC charging stations are much more compact, but the charging process also takes longer here. Because of the lower power, a complete charging process takes several hours.

DC charging stations, on the other hand, are designed for fast charging and are therefore more suitable for public locations.

Can e-campers be charged overnight?

In principle, you can charge your E-Camper overnight. However, you should not use public charging stations for this. If you want to charge your electric camper overnight, then use an Schuko charging cable at a household socket. However, we recommend that you use public quick-charging stations during the day.

What will 1 kWh of electricity cost at the charging station in 2022?

Here, the prices differ somewhat, depending on the country and provider. In Germany, 1 kWh of electricity at the charging station costs an average of 44 cents at AC charging stations and 54 cents at DC charging stations. On Chargeprice.net you can compare the current charging prices and even plan your route within Europe.

How do you pay at a charging station?

There are several ways to pay at a charging station.

One option is to pay with a charging card. This requires registration with the provider before charging. In the meantime, several providers have joined forces to form a charging network. This makes it possible to charge and pay with a charging card at several providers.
